Recently, i was thinking about last year's Florida Supercon and how my Baiken (Guilty Gear) cosplay completely fell apart. Luckily i had my oooold Itachi cosplay as a back up, which i wore satrday night and the next day.

Now its common to find out that your not the only person cosplaying as "____" character. Cosplaying as Itachi, there's bound to be more. Sunday, i was walking around trying to pass time until some event (i don't quite remember) started and some kid cosplaying as (you guessed it) Itachi gave me this dirty look because they wanted to be the only and best Itachi ever. After that one encounter his friends gave me a "disapproving" look saying stuff like
"psh. She's not a REAL man like you."
"She's not even the right height."
or even
"She downright sucks"

instead of turning into Bomqueequee, i ignored their remarks and went on with my day.

What does this have to do with my apologizing?
I've come to realize that there have been times where i acted like this. Though, i always knew that i'll never be the best "____" because somewhere there's going to be someone who does a certain part of the cosplay better (wig, outfit, accesories/props, etc."

Every Yasumicon, i cosplayed as Vincent Valentine (Final Fantasy 7) and in 2008, there was this amaaazing Vincent. She had the hair, the leather pants, and the gun, she was tall (something im not..lol). I couldn't help but feel slight envy for her amazing work. Whenever i saw her in the hall i looked away and i went to friend Vanessa saying "man, i can never compare to that." Some guy happened to see both of us at one time and asked for a picture. After the shot, another guy came and said "I never knew Vincent was a midget" That made me feel worse.
Then came the time when i went to use the bathroom. When i was washing my hands, who came out the stall but the other Vincent. She smiled and complemented my cosplay. We shared a some laughs and went our ways (out of the bathroom XD) She was really nice.



Since then, i havn't reacted like that one other Itachi cosplayer.
Similar to "Don't judge a book by its cover",
Dont make fun of someone because you think their cosplay is better than yours.
